What comes to your mind when you think of a low budget? A poor movie with bad acting and terrible graphics I'm guessing? Well my point of view changed when I watched Slumdog Millionaire. This movie changed my perspective on low budget movies and has taught me not to judge a movie by its cover. Well enough of that, and more about this movie.
So the movie starts out with 18 year old Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) on the show Who wants to be a Millionaire?. In which he just one question away from winning the grand prize. The host expects him of cheating and he hires these goons to torture and interrogate him to see if he cheated. When he keeps telling them that he didn't they don't believe him and just keep questioning him. Through the movie it shows flashbacks of his childhood in the slums with his brother Salim (Madhur Mittal) and his mother. His mother later dies in the Bombay Riots and they are left orphans. Soon after the riots Jamal and Salim meet a girl named Latika (Freida Pinto). Jamal and Latika become friends but Salim does not like it. They are camping when a gangster named Maman and takes them in to beg on the streets. When Jamal and Salim figure out that Maman has been blinding kids to make more profit and they escape on a train leaving Latika behind. After years of barely making a living when they go look for Latika and find that Maman is selling a Latika for prostitution. Salim pulls a gun and tells him to hand over his money and Latika. After Maman does so Salim kills Maman. When they get back to the motel Salim goes out and
