The Simpsons Movie

I'm sure I don't need to explain about The Simpsons. A show about a family that has been playing now for 22 years straight, now that is a long time in television. In fact, that is so long, it has been classified as the longest running animated show in history. Then on July 26, 2007, Matt Groening (producer of The Simpsons) took his successful show to a whole new level. With that I'm going to talk about The Simpsons Movie.
So the movie starts out with the band Green Day preforming on Lake Springfield. However, the pollution of the lake causes their stage raft to sink. The next day the church holds a funeral for Green Day, when Grampa has a vision about the future doom of Springfield. After church Homer does chores around the house such as getting rid of a bee hive and fixing the roof. Bart and Homer try to have fun by daring each other to do things, but Homer takes it a little to far when he dares Bart to skateboard across the town naked. Bart gets in trouble for it and doesn't think his dad cares about him. After Homer adopts a pig, Bart gets a little help from Ned Flanders and they become friends. Marge asks about where he is putting the pig's leavings and Homer shows her the silo in the backyard labeled Pig Crap. Homer goes to get rid of the silo when he gets in a hurry and carelessly dumps the silo into the lake, polluting the lake more than its ever been. The EPA finds out and Russ Cargill (head of the EPA) goes to President Schwarzenegger for help. Cargill gives him five different options and, without reading them, Schwarzenegger picks number three. Soon Springfield is being sealed in a giant glass dome. The townspeople realize that it was Homer who dumped the Pig Crap silo and they go to kill him and his family. They escape through a sinkhole and go to Alaska. Later Cargill gives another order to bomb Springfield making sure no one knows about it. The Simpsons find out about the plan and go to rescue Springfield, but Homer disagrees and Marge and the kids leave him. With the help of an Inuit shaman Homer realizes that it is his duty to help Springfield. Meanwhile Marge and the kids are discovered by Russ and are captured then put back into the dome. Soon Homer climbs the dome and goes down the rope holding the bomb. He gets a motorcycle and, with the help of Bart, goes up the dome and they throw the bomb out the hole just before it explodes. They meet up with Russ who is about to kill him when Maggie drops a rock on his head, knocking him out. Homer and Bart are treated as heroes by the townspeople they all help rebuild the town back to normal.
So thats The Simpsons Movie and it is one of my most favorite movies. It had great animation and great comedy. Now for the rating, I give a 4.5 out of 5. Right now as I'm righting this review I'm suprised that Matt Groening could make such a great show and also make just as great of a movie.
